This is just a quick post to share my excitement at searching for new books!

Late last week, Heather Pohl, Adult Services and Collection Development Coordinator, sent out an email asking for nonfiction book requests.  Obviously, I was thrilled.  I immediately sent her the list of nonfiction books from my Collection Development project, but unfortunately the library does not order from Mason Crest.  There was one specific series from Mason Crest that I really wanted to add to the collection, the Gallup Youth Survey series.  The series focuses on teens and issues such as relationships, sex, suicide, alcohol, and more.  Currently, I am searching on Amazon for similar books to be added to the collection.  I can’t even begin to describe how excited I am to be looking for materials that could help shape and develop the futures of the teens who use my collection.  I feel that choosing the correct materials to be added is a huge responsibility, and I am keeping their requests and needs in mind as I go through the process of selecting books.  I will eventually post the completed list of materials.
